Afternoon Action

Summer Reading Program activities for kids going into grades 1 - 4.


Stories and crafts for kids, grades 1 - 4.
Each program is approximately 45 minutes.

Each week we will read a book and do an activity.

Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., June 6 - July 18



June 6 - Instrument Bingo   
   Make your own bingo card with pictures of a variety of different
   instruments and play for prizes! 

June 13 - Feel the Rhythm
   Make your own percussive instrument and learn the game Drumbeat Freeze!

June 20 - Sounds of the Wild
   Learn to identify different animal sounds and put your knowledge into
   action with a round of Jungle Fruit Bop!

June 27 - Draw a Song
   We’ll listen to songs from different genres and make art inspired by what
   we’re listening to. Will different songs inspire certain colors, styles, or scenes?
   Let’s find out together!

July 11 - Around the World
   Come learn clapping games from around the world with us, then work together
   to create a new one!

July 18 - Blue Suede Shoes
   Rock out to Elvis and create a picture of your own special shoes ala Elvis’s
   blue suede shoes.








**  No programs will be held July 2 - 6.  **
